This
40’ standard box car with single door is one of three cars built
by NSC in 1946 with extensive
use of aluminum. While the aluminum was left with a natural fi
nish, the steel components were
painted aluminum. In the late 1950’s these three cars were painted
mineral red and lettered like
other CN box cars.
