This 40’ standard box car with plug door is painted brown with yellow sides and aluminum roof. The herald, stripes and lettering are all in black. This car was built int April 1962 and runs on Roller Bearing trucks. Fruit Growers Express (FGE) was a railroad refrigerator car leasing company that began as a produce-hauling subsidiary of Armour and the Company’s private refrigerator car line. March 18, 1920 after separation from Armour, the firm took possession of 4,280 pieces of rolling stock and repair shops.
