This 40’ standard
box car with single Superior door and no roofwalk is painted Armour yellow
with a lower white stripe. The lettering, including the large “ARA” herald
and “Serving Arcade Industry” slogan, is black and white. It was built
in the late 1930s, and rebuilt in June 1956. It runs on black Bettendorf
trucks. It was repainted in July 1970 when it became a secondhand purchase
for the ARA, then numbered into the 501-509 series. The ARA included 22
rolling stock in the 1973 Official Railway and Equipment Registry that
were all but gone by 1978.
