This is one of 100 cars built in
May 1974 and serviced in January 1989 by Chicago & North Western.
It’s painted yellow with black ends, aluminum roof and runs
on Barber Roller Bearing trucks. In 1972 C&NW purchased the
transportation assets of the Chicago & Northwestern Railway
and changed its name to Chicago & North Western
Transportation Co. By the 1980s, the preferred car color was yellow
and a three-color “Chicago System” herald was in use. |
