These 50’ standard
box cars with double doors are painted brown with white lettering and
herald, and run
on Barber Roller Bearing trucks. Built by Southern Pacific®, as
part of series 209548-210547, at the
Sacramento Shops in 1955 these double-door cars are two of thousands
built during the ‘50s to meet the
growing demand for larger doors, permitting the use of fork-lifts and
larger loading devices.
