| This 50’ standard box car with
double plug doors has red sides and black roof and ends. It has
white and yellow ”Super Shock Control,” lettering with a white
Santa Fe Circle Cross logo and runs on black Barber® roller
bearing trucks. ATSF 48050 is a Class Fe-37 Pullman-Standard box
car from lot 8940 out of Michigan City. Classification “Fe” is
an anachronism from earlier days when double door cars were used
for furniture loading. Cars in this series were equipped with
20” cushion underframes and completed with Apex or Morton running
boards, Dowlec flooring and lading anchors. |
