This 50’ standard box car with double door and no roofwalk is painted vermillion red with the black and white herald, white‘ Great Northern’ lettering, and white lettering on the car. It was built in August 1957, serviced in August 1966 and runs on Bettendorf trucks. Great Northern built 250 of these Class XM box cars in the mid-1950s, equipped with nailable steel flooring. In 1966 roofwalks were removed and many were repainted with new Empire Builder stylized lettering.
