| This 50' gondola with
fishbelly side and drop ends is painted mineral brown with white lettering and
runs on brown roller bearing trucks. ATSF 75045 was built in January 1954 and
was last serviced in April of 1974, at the Topeka, Kansas shop. The Atchison &
Topeka Railroad was chartered in 1859 to join the cities of Atchison and Topeka
then planned to continue southwest toward Santa Fe. “Santa Fe” was added to the
corporate name in 1863. |
