This
61’ bulkhead flat car is brown with white lettering and runs
on Barber Roller Bearing trucks. Built in 1978 by Thrall for
the Southern Railway, it was quickly absorbed into NS during
the 1982 merger. Used to carry heavy loads, bulkheads on each
end prevent horizontal shifting from sudden acceleration or
deceleration of the train.
