This
33’ twin bay hopper with offset sides is painted brown with white ‘Chicago, Milwaukee,
St. Paul and Pacific’ logo and white lettering. It was built in July 1937 and
runs on Betterndorf trucks. MILW 94570 was built as part of a 500 -car series
of open hoppers. Primarily used for hauling coal, they also carried many other
types of loads. The Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad, commonly
called the Milwaukee Road, was a Class I railroad that operated in the Midwest
and Northwest of the United States from 1847 until its merger into the Soo Line
Railroad on January 1, 1986.
