| This 33’
twin bay hopper with composite sides is black with white lettering
and runs on Bettendorf trucks. In 1943, Bethlehem Steel manufactured
700 War Emergency Composite 50-ton hoppers for the Atlantic Coast
Line in the series 82000 – 82699. After the war ACL rebuilt
these cars with steel sides and floors after the material became
abundant. |
