This 40’ steel ice reefer with operating hatches is painted aluminum with large red and white herald and black kickboards. Lettering is black. It was built in June 1964 by General American Transportation Co., serviced in October 1960, and runs on Bettendorf trucks. This reefer is capable of carrying 75,000 pounds of brine and meat. AAR designation RAM indicates that it is equipped for this service. This car likely received this aluminum color scheme when serviced at the East Chicago shops of the General American Transportation Company in 1960.
