This three-dome tank car is painted black
with white lettering and runs on Bettendorf trucks. It was built by American Car &
Foundry in May 1930 for Shippers Car Line—one of a four-car order in Lot #1137.
Shippers leased to the Mexican Petroleum Corporation. The three-dome tank cars
were designed to carry small quantities of multiple products, such as several grades
of motor oil, gasoline or chemicals to be shipped in one car. American Car &
Foundry began production of three-dome tank cars in 1930 and continued through
1946.
