This 33’ black USRA panel side twin bay hopper has large white “NEW HAVEN” lettering and runs on black Andrews trucks. The raised panel sides featured on this model were originally developed out of a need to provide parts to repair heavily used and rusted hoppers and increase capacity at the same time. New Haven completed the conversion of these cars in February of 1933 and used the hoppers in coal hauling.
