This
33’ panel side twin bay hopper is painted black with white lettering
and runs on Bettendorf trucks. Pennsylvania railroad was known
for fleets of coal hoppers, but unique among them was the singular
two bay GLf 250,000 expanded bay hopper. New sides were applied
to a standard hopper that allowed for an additional 15% capacity
but the conversion never caught on with the railroad who favored
higher capacity three and four bay hoppers.
