This MRL blue 3 bay ACF Center Flow® covered hopper with elongated hatches displays white logo, red “Montana” letters and runs on black Barber® roller bearing trucks. In 1996, MRL received a brand new logo to complete their identity package. The new logo adds a white lion’s head to the original “Flying W” finishing the logo’s upper right corner into a full “Flying W.” The name “Montana Rail Link” expresses MRL’s role for Burlington Northern: it serves as a captive, low-cost link for traffic to and from the Pacific Northwest, Midwest and South.
