This
three-bay Centerflow® covered hopper with elongated hatches
is painted gray with black logo and lettering. It was built
in March 1977 by American Car & Foundry and runs on Barber
Roller Bearing trucks. This cylindrical design reduced
maintenance, by eliminating pockets, corners and protrusions
where product could accumulate, and was favored for the shipment
of grains, salt and granular chemicals. These cars were built
with an interior lining, adding protection for both the
car and the load it carried.
