| This 56’ general
service tank car is painted black with a gray bands. It bears large
white logos and lettering and runs on Barber® Roller Bearing
trucks. Tank car indication bands circa 1970 indicated the cargo
the tank was carrying. The colors were as follows: diesel fuel,
grey; gasoline, red; car journal oil, yellow; water, green; diesel
lube oil, yellow trimmed with grey; reclaimed lube oil, yellow trimmed
with green and solvents, red trimmed in yellow. The grey band on
this car indicates it was used in diesel fuel hauling service. |
