This 89 tri-level
open auto rack is painted yellow with black logo and lettering. It was built in
January 1964 by Bethlehem Steel and runs on Barber® Roller Bearing trucks.
Open rack cars gradually became extinct due to problems with damage and vandalism
while in transit. However, these cars were greatly responsible for securing a
vast amount of the automobile delivery traffic that had been previously lost during
the box car era. |
