This 40' USRA steel box car with single door is painted black with a lower band of white on sides, and white lettering on sides and ends. It is from a 750 car fleet built in March 1934. Lacking the capital to purchase new box cars, the LNE modernized their fleet in the '50s and kept them in revenue service until being shut down by parent company Lehigh Coal and Navigation in 1961. The fleet emerged from the rebuilding program in December 1956 wearing this impressive paint scheme. The LNE logo is black on white with a red center disk. The low height allows unrestricted interchange potential.
