This 83’
Pullman heavyweight sleeper 12-1 is painted green with gold herald
and lettering. Roof is black. The cars road name
is Berkeley, ran in the 1930s and runs on six-wheel passenger
trucks. ‘12-1’ (12 Section-1 Drawing Room) is a named
car
and built for general service by the Pullman company from Pullman
Plan #3410. It was named in honor of the SP station
located on the east side of San Francisco Bay in Berkeley, CA.
Many of SP’s sleeper cars were named after stations along
their passenger route. |
