This
70 express baggage car is painted Tuscan Red with PRR
Buff lettering and runs on Commonwealth
6-wheeled trucks. Like most railroads at the turn of the twentieth
century, Baggage Cars became an important
part of the head-end consists and revenue generators for the
railroads. PRR gave their Baggage Cars the B-70
designation that covered a number of different variations. This
particular car is part of the 6000-6054 series
which began service during the 1920s.
