This
70 heavyweight mail baggage car displays the standard
orange and maroon scheme common on Milwaukee Road passenger
equipment. Milwaukee was an important hub in the distribution
of freight and mail through most of the 20th century. As a result,
Milwaukee Road fielded a large and varied fleet of cars designed
to deliver the mail from the Great Lakes to the Pacific Ocean.
These cars had 30-foot secure mail rooms and 40 baggage
compartments.
