In June 1942,
Union Pacific built this 40' standard box car with single door at their
Omaha, Nebraska shops. It was painted UP mineral red and lettered in
yellow. The class B-50-33 box car was part of a 749-car fleet that was
emblazoned on one side with the slogan, Be SpecificShip Union Pacific
and on the opposite side with the other UP slogan common in that era,
Road of the Streamliners. Number U.P. 193450 was serviced at the same
shop in December 1950. The 3,902 cu ft, 100,000 lb capacity car was
equipped with Bettendorf trucks.
