After the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western and the Erie Railroad merged October 17, 1960, #73113 came out of the EL Meadville Shops September of 1961 painted light gray with maroon lettering on sides and ends. Built in November of 1947 by Magor Car Company, this 32 car group originally came from the DL&W 52000-52499. The ELs new light gray painted bodies did not hold up well as rust seeped through any improperly prepared surface areas. These 40 standard box cars with single (Youngstown) doors survived until the beginning of Conrail on April 1, 1976.
