40' Standard Box Car, Single Door Part #MTL-20400 N Scale Supply Price: $ Reprint Release Date: June 1999 |
Built in June of 1956 by Pullman Standard, this 40' standard box car with single blue door is black with white lettering and carries the very unique and visually striking B&M blue and white monogram. #74706 is the only car that wore this experimental paint scheme. Over the years, railroads experimented with a variety of paint schemes. Some wore special paint schemes designed for marketing and promotion purposes, like name recognition. Other livery was used to test car visibility or to promote safety. (The original 2/84 release road number was incorrect.)
