#16073 was part of a 150 car fleet that was built July of 1954 by Pullman Standard from lot 8191. Painted C&IM green with white lettering and a red stripe, this 40' standard box car with single door wears the roads' colorful yellow, black and red tilted logo. Though hopper cars and gondolas are the mainstay of C&IM's rolling stock, there were about 383 box cars left in 1956. The line was owned by Commonwealth Edison, the Chicago area power company, until 1987. The road is now privately held and the 121 mile route runs south from Peoria to Taylorville.
