This green 40’standard
box car with single Youngstown door displays the ‘Dogwood Flower’ herald and white
lettering and runs on black Bettendorf trucks. 200 cars built in January 1958
originally wore a Pacific Great Eastern Railway (PGE) paint scheme. It was repainted
into the BCR livery in 1972, after the BC government changed the corporate railroad
name. Paint scheme includes green cars, bold white lettering and the colorful
dogwood flower herald. The dogwood is British Columbia’s provincial flower. The
paint scheme continued thru 1984 when the name was again changed to BC Rail. |
