This 40’ standard box car with single Youngstown door is painted box car red with black and white logo and white lettering. It was built in April 1941 and runs on black Bettendorf trucks. The Tennessee Central Railway was conceived to connect Nashville and Knoxville. Several previous attempts had failed, but ultimately provided this link. The Tennessee Central sold a large number of locomotives and rolling stock to the Louisville and Nashville, which in turn leased these back to the TC. The influx of cash allowed TC to operate until their reorganization as the Tennessee Central Railroad, and began debt free under new management.
