Number 583776, a 40' standard box car, double doors,
was built in May 1937. It is painted CN mineral red and stenciled in
white. It was reweighed in December 1969, at the Transcona Shops located
in Winnipeg (indicated by CN's station symbol 'PU') and the new CN 'Wet
Noodle' logo was applied. French wording was also added to one side
at that time. Finished lumber was a primary Western Canadian export
during the '60s and '70s. These 90,000 lb capacity cars hauled this
commodity until more efficient vehicles such as the bulkhead and center
beam flat cars were developed. Green double doors provided easy and
safe forklift access.
