C.V. 40014 is one in a 200-car fleet of 40' outside-braced box cars with single door that was built in December 1924. In June 1964, the car was serviced and painted box car red with white lettering. The ‘wet noodle’ CV logo was common in the 1960s and was designed to be similar to parent company, Canadian National’s, CN logo. These Andrews truck-equipped cars had a 2,926 cu ft, 90,000 lb capacity. Outside-braced box cars were a durable design that, in many cases, lasted into the 1970s in revenue service. CV serves Vermont, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and New York.
