50' standard box car with single door is painted green with aluminum door and
yellow lettering. It was built in May 1961 by Pullman Standard at their Michigan
City, Indiana plant. The 100,000 lb capacity box car rolls on Bettendorf trucks.
The Maine Central, known as the Pine Tree Route finds its roots in
1862 with acquisition and lease agreements when the MEC built 800 miles of track
to serve Maine. The road was controlled by the Boston & Maine until 1955.
In June 1981 the road was sold to Guilford Transportation Industries.
