This 50’ standard box car with single door is painted Pullman Green with yellow lettering, and the red and yellow ‘Through the Heart’ herald. It was built in March 1962 by Pullman Standard of Bessemer, Alabama. It runs on black roller bearing trucks. Known by railroad crews as the ‘Green Hornet,’ SAL 16028 was fitted with specialized equipment and generally assigned to paper traffic service. It featured the state-of-the-art PS-1 ‘Hydroframe 60’ cushioned underframe and nailable steel flooring.
