From a group of six cars equipped with a 30-inch travel Hydroframe-60 cushion underframe, this 50' standard box car with plug door was delivered January 28, 1965 to New Haven by Pullman-Standard. It is painted red with black doors, lower sill, grabs and ladders. New Haven had over 1,800 miles of track through Connecticut and Rhode Island, extending into Massachusetts and New York. After two bankruptcies and many financial problems, it was purchased by Penn Central on December 31, 1968.
