Built in November 1966, this class XM 50' standard box car with plug door is painted box car red with white lettering on the sides and ends. The ‘Employee Owned’ black and white circle-bar emblem was applied when repainted at the Clinton, Iowa shops in June 1979. From a 100 car fleet, #152043 is equipped with a hydraulic cushion underframe and an Evans DF (‘damage free’) loading device. In 1970 C&NW was purchased by nearly 1,000 employees and incorporated as the North Western Employees Transportation Co. After a 1972 change in corporate structure the herald boasted “Employee Owned.”
