These 50' standard box cars with plug door are painted Reflex Blue with lettering on sides and ends in white. The '65 Year' logo is printed in yellow, red and dark blue. The Model Railroader logo appears in the corporate light blue with white lettering scheme. The built date is 8-56.
A Leader from the Beginning - In 1933, Al Kalmbach, a victim of the great depression, combined his interests of model trains and printing. The result was the first 12 page issue of Model Railroader Magazine that sold only 272 copies. Since then MRR has become not only the oldest model railroading magazine, but also the leader in circulation.
