This class S-40-10 double-deck 40’ stock car with single door was originally built in May of 1926 and rebuilt September 1934. When the Livestock Dispatch Service was created in April of 1947, the U.P. repainted a fleet of 300 rebuilds at the roads' Omaha shops and assigned them to transport service. The roof and ends are aluminum with yellow sides and bright red lettering. The cars were still seen in operation into the mid 60's wearing their original paint. This car currently rides the rails for the Oregon Short Line, a subsidiary of the Union Pacific. (Last released 1/88)
