When number 56385 was built in March 1942, it was a wood sheathed box car. When it was serviced in July 1969 it was converted into a 40’ despatch stock car. It is also one of a few such cars that were painted big sky blue with white lettering. It continued to operate with this paint scheme into the mid-1970s, after the Burlington Northern merger. The 3,686 cu ft, 80,000 lb capacity livestock hauler rolls on Bettendorf trucks. The Great Northern Railroad was headquartered in St. Paul, Minnesota.
