Built in August of 1919 by American Car & Foundry, this class Bx2 40' double-sheathed wood box car with single door and vertical brake wheel is painted box car red and lettered in white. #38693, from a 2,700 car fleet, rides on Andrews trucks and wears the pre-1920 black and white 4’ circle-cross Santa Fe herald. The ampersand in the reporting mark reflects the pre-1938 lettering style.
