This 40' double-sheathed wood box car with 1 1/2 doors is painted box car red with white lettering on sides and ends. Both the New York Central and the Michigan Central logos are in white. It was built in February, 1918 by Barney & Smith Car Co. With a weight capacity of 80,000 Lbs. and inside capacity of 2986 cubic feet, this car was designated to carry automotive parts and possibly automobiles. New York Central leased the Michigan Central in 1930.
