This class FM, 50' flat car with straight sides and side mounted brake wheel, was built in August of 1945 by American Car and Foundry. It is box car red with white lettering which was the scheme for GN's general service equipment between 1919 and 1945. The name 'Great Northern' was adopted as the only suitable name for the great territory conquered by the rails of James Hill in February 1890. It became a fallen flag in March 1970.
