This 50’ flat car with fishbelly side and side
mount brakewheel has white lettering and runs on black Bettendorf trucks. Built
in July of 1939, 5275 has a rated capacity of 100,000 lbs. This car is designated
FM class, an ordinary flat car for general service. It has flooring laid over
sills without sides or ends. The Minneapolis, St. Paul & Sault Ste. Marie
Railway was incorporated in 1883 to provide a route from the twin cities, east,
to the Canadian Pacific at Sault Ste. Marie. Sault is pronounced “Soo” and Soo
Line quickly became the nickname for the line. |
