| This 50’ gondola with fishbelly side
and drop ends is painted GTW blue with white herald and lettering.
It was built in August 1954 and rolls on black Barber® roller
bearing trucks. It was purchased by Grand Trunk Western as part
of the 145700-146099 road series. The Grand Trunk Western Railroad
was created as a Canadian National subsidiary in 1928: it consists
of the Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan trackage of the Grand Trunk
Railway. The GTW, a leading carrier of finished automobiles, links
Detroit with Chicago. |
