Canadian National built this 40' double-sheathed wood reefer at their Transcona Shops in Winnipeg, Manitoba in September 1937. It is painted mineral red with green and white maple leaf herald, and white lettering. When it was serviced at the Turcot Shops in Montreal, Quebec, in October 1948, Number C.N. 209344 was the first wood reefer to receive this herald. The 70,000 lb capacity car is equipped with divided basket ice bunkers and coil-elliptic trucks. CN was born out of a June 1919 merger of Canadian Northern and Canadian Government Railway.
