From the 700 series, WIF 724 is a 40' double-sheathed wood reefer with vertical brake wheel, box car red roof and ends, and yellow sides. All lettering and logo are black. Rebuilt December, 1955 by the Fruit Growers Express at their Jacksonville, Florida shops, it has a load limit of 83,100 pounds and capacity of 1,872 cu ft. The West India Fruit and Steamship Company operated a railroad car ferry service between Palm Beach, Florida and Havana, Cuba during the Fulgencio Batista regime, prior to Fidel Castro's 1959 takeover.
