This 40’ steel ice reefer is painted for Popsicle® in aluminum with white sides. It is lettered in black and the right-side billboard art of a juggling clown, is red, white, blue, and black. The 77,000 lb capacity car rolls on Bettendorf trucks. When Frank Epperson offered his first frozen ice pop he branded it ‘Epsicle.’ He later gave it the brand with which we are familiar. During the Depression he created the twin Popsicle® ice pop—as seen on this car—so that, for only a nickel, a child could share the treat with a friend.
