OBuilt by the American Car and Foundry March 7, 1937, these 39’ single dome tank cars are painted black and lettered in yellow. With a capacity of 80,000 lbs. or 6,500 gallons, their light weights are 42,700 lbs. each. Stenciled on the sides is ‘ICC 103’ which indicates the Interstate Commerce Commission has specified them as general purpose cars commonly used to transport oils. The Union Tank Car Company operates tank cars throughout the United States.
