#1100 is painted yellow with a black belly. The lettering is black on the sides and ends with the billboard-style name in red outlined in black. Built in August of 1929 by American Car and Foundry, this 39’ single dome tanker was tested in March of 1941. It was from a 20 car fleet back in 1956, when Shell owned and operated a total of 572 tank cars. At that time, the Shell offices were located in San Francisco.
