In 1988, Burlington Northern began painting a series of its 45’ intermodal trailers with ‘cityscape’ images in recognition of major cities that it serves. This ninth MTL release of that series, recognizing Memphis, TN, is painted white with green stripes and includes a brilliant color image of that city’s focal points. Displayed prominently in front of the beautiful Memphis skyline is the gracefully double-arched Hernando DeSoto Bridge spanning the Mississippi River. In front of the bridge one of the ever-popular paddle wheel steamers plies the waters of the Mississippi.
