In 1988, Burlington Northern painted a series of its 45’ intermodal trailers with ‘cityscape’ images in recognition of major cities it serves. This tenth MTL release of that series, recognizing Seattle, Washington, is painted white with green stripes and includes a brilliant color image of that city’s features and surroundings. The 605’ Space Needle, constructed for the 1962 World’s Fair in Seattle, dominates the scene. The purple mountain’s majesty of the Cascade Range, home of Mt. Rainier and Glacier Peak, forms the backdrop, and Douglas firs, ubiquitous in the Pacific Northwest, fill the middle ground.
